The Head of State receives Chairman of National Presidential and Legislative Elections Observatory

21/10/2004--President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali received today, Mr. Adelwahab Behi, Chairman of the National Presidential and Legislative Elections Observatory.

Mr. Behi submitted to the Head of State a preliminary report on the conditions and the atmosphere in which the electoral campaign of the presidential and legislative elections is taking place throughout the whole country.

He also informed the President of the Republic of the Observatory's preparations ahead of the next electoral stages, particularly the operations of vote casting.

"President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali reasserted the great interest he lends to the fact that the upcoming stages of the elections be characterized by transparency, respect for the law, and the administration's neutrality", said the Observatory chairman.
