The role of the Tunisian Internet Agency

Founded in early 1996, the Tunisian Internet Agency (ATI) came to replace university research centers as the country's national operator of Internet services and solutions and to expand the use of Internet among the public at large. Operating under the aegis of the Tunisian Ministry of Communications, the Tunisian Internet Agency (ATI) is a company whose tasks include:

  • Developing an Internet strategy and new Internet applications and services in Tunisia;
  • Contributing to the setting up of national networks (education, health, agriculture, etc.;)
  • Administering the national link and national Internet Backbone;
  • Registering domain names under the Tunisian domain (.tn);
  • Organizing seminars and training courses on Internet usage and technology;
  • Providing web hosting and Internet access for institutions and organizations.
