Internet Community in Tunisia
The Internet community is growing at an exponential rate. This is mostly due to
government efforts to make Internet access widely available to group users like in education, libraries, and public
Internet access centers.
The number of subscribers (access account holders), which was 111 in late 1996, has
reached 30,000 as of April 2000. The total number of users is estimated at 200,000.
The aim is to reach 100,000 accounts by 2001 and an Internet community of more than 500,000 end users.
