Tunisian President reiterates sympathy with the United States and denunciation of terrorism

President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali reiterated Wednesday Tunisia’s unwavering condemnation of terrorism and its solidarity with the American people in the wake of the terrorist attacks against the United States.
“In the wake of the criminal terrorist attacks perpetrated a few days ago against the United States causing the death of thousands of innocent victims, we reiterate the expression of our sympathy, compassion and solidarity with the
friendly American people and with the families of the victims, reaffirming Tunisia's unwavering stand against terrorism, whatever its forms and motivations,” he said addressing the members of the central committee of the governing Democratic Constitutional Rally.
“We also emphasize again the need for cooperation and solidarity to confront this phenomenon and the dangers it represents for mankind's security and stability, and the necessity to work towards addressing its causes,” he added.
President Ben Ali had denounced the terrorist attacks against the United States immediately after they occurred.
Tunisia has consistently condemned extremism and terrorism.
